Two kinds of trade marks are in question.
(a) Those belonging to firms carrying on business in HK.
(b) Those belonging to firms carrying on business in enemy territories.
As to (a). These are under the control of the liquidators. As to (b) we suggested in our Circular (No.2) of 31? (copy below) that legislation should be passed vesting in the Crown these marks so as to enable them to be held by the Crown till the end of the war when the whole question of German trade with the Colonies will have to be considered.
We do not know what has been done in HK regarding this suggestion. Perhaps we might inquire by telegram whether legislation is contemplated.
If we find that they are going to register late, we can then tell Mr. Association that class (a) are under the control of the liquidators.
